New equine rangers

If elected on May 6th, Donna will setup a group of ‘Equine Rangers’ to assist in tackling rural crimes, made up of volunteer horse riders. The police will provide  IT equipment enabling them to act as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the police in the less populated parts of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.

From fly tipping to theft from outbuildings, crime in the countryside is real & it’s increasing! We need a new deal for policing in rural areas and as your Police Commissioner Donna will invest in new technologies such as the use of drones to tackle these organised crimes.
By being mounted, Equine Rangers will be able to cover ground that cannot easily be accessed by car or on foot. They will be able to report information directly into the police system that can then be followed up by officers.
